Software Radio

The NRL Software Radio, or programmable software digital radio, is an outgrowth of the Joint Commander's Interface Terminal (JCIT). The Software Radio is the first functional implementation of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). The JTRS concept provides for a programmable radio capable of handling virtually any military radio modulation and encryption technique via software.

Telenetics provides hardware engineering design and support to NRL for the SINGCARS military radio design.
